After students have completed their learning reflections (in lesson plan), hand out the project reflection questions to get feedback on what your students thought about The Diabetes Project.

Outcomes and Indicators of Success

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Assess how their understanding of Type 2 diabetes has changed after completing this project. They will demonstrate this ability by answering questions about Type 2 diabetes and comparing their answers written after completing this unit with their answers from the beginning of the unit.

This Lesson in part has been provided by the Diabetes Education in Tribal Schools (DETS)Curriculum, collaboratively developed by: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU), and the Tribal Leaders Diabetes Committee.

  •  Student Handouts completed in Lesson 1-1, "What do I know about diabetes?"
The activities presented in this lesson serve as a check for understanding.
