Tell your students that they will be working in teams, and open up a discussion about challenges they may face, strategies to overcome challenges, and the value of teamwork. Give the students an opportunity to brainstorm solutions to anticipated challenges.
From our experience, the biggest challenge students faced was a teammate who did not participate. Brainstorming solutions and strategies at the beginning of the case study may allow students to work more effectively in teams and avoid some strife. Be sure to review strategies like delegation and assignment of roles. This discussion may be more necessary in classes with less experience working in teams. |
